The Map of Life interactive website is really fun to play around with. Search for any species, and display maps of everywhere it's found. Click an area and list all the birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles and freshwater fishes near you.
In my exploring, I found out that the red fox and gray fox live near Lansing, and there are 7 species of salamander nearby. I noticed that this doesn't necessary work for the invasive range of certain plants, as California poppies and Monterey Pines only showed up in California (they are invaders in other countries, too). I looked at all the locations that capybaras have been recorded. There are a few bugs, since this is still the demo version, but it's still pretty neat.
