A film and animation professor at the Rhode Island School of Design named Dennis Hlynsky has come up with an unusual method and subject of his video creations: the patterns of movement of birds and insects. The image at the top of the article is actually a video - mouse over it and see how he creates these beautiful and scientific works of art.
The water strider video (below) is especially interesting to me because their paths lack curves and appear to be the opposite of some of the bird paths he displays. It is hard to believe that these patterns come from living organisms!
