These species changes are actually becoming more common with DNA analysis that finds differences large enough to change species, even when externally, more than one species looks the same. Some naturalists and scientists have been opposed to renaming and dividing species too much due to genetic differences, simply because it makes it hard for them to identify species in the field correctly. On the practical side, species guides have to be republished, and park signs and brochures mentioning the species need to be changed.
